Castiel leaned against the wall, watching as Dean laughed at something Lisa Braeden said.
He was stupid to think that this would finally be the night Dean would ask him out. They had been friends for almost ten years and nothing had happened, so why would it now?
He took a sip of the punch and made a face. Spiked of course. He sat the cup down on a nearby table and leaned into the corner.

Everyone was starting to settle down and find their loved ones. Castiel pressed himself further into the wall.
He didn’t want anyone to see that he was alone, too hung up on Dean Winchester to find anyone else.

He needed to get out of the room. He didn’t want to see Dean kiss her.

He was being kissed. His first kiss was being stolen from him. He reared back, ready lay the guy out, but froze.
It was Dean smiling down at him, Dean’s arms around him, Dean’s mouth that he could still taste.
“Happy New Year, Cas”
cas would kiss dean so much though. like, he would kiss dean all over. all over his face. his shoulders. he would kiss dean’s fingers. his knuckles. his buttcheeks. kissy little bab.
i hope dean and cas kiss at midnight this year.
i hope they’re curled up on the bunker couch, awkward and a little tipsy and wanting to touch but too weighted down with their fears to make a move. and the countdown starts on the tv and dean’s gripped with the memory of all the years before, when cas was far away and he wanted like an idiot, and he sets his hand at cas’ elbow and swallows hard and tries not to say please. and when cas looks at dean, and sees his eyes wide and the way the champagne and beer has stripped away the thin veneer of bravado about what the mark is doing to him, his heart goes thump in his chest and he leans in.
they almost miss the first time, their noses bumping together, and dean swears under his breath, but it’s not midnight just yet, so they get another chance, and right as sam drops heavily onto the couch and exclaims happy new year! and the clock hits midnight they’re doing it, they’re kissing, careful and awkward and desperate and learning each other because this could be it. this could be the year cas burns out and dean ends up dead for good but at least they’re starting it out right, with their foreheads pressed together and cas’ hand cupping dean’s jaw and a smile on dean’s face.
If you are stuck going to midnight or morning mass, please think about bad boy Dean jerking off churchboy Cas in the confessional during the service, keeping his boy quiet with a hand around his mouth and whispering how good he’s being while Cas whimpers against his palm and fucks up into his hand.
can someone write an au where dean and (human) cas meet in prison with dean in there for something serious that he did to protect sammy or something and cas is in there because he was one of the like 2 people per year who get arrested for pirating music off the internet
can we please handle this the middle school way? would someone just push cas and dean into a closet and not let them out until they kiss?
Really, all you would have to do is push Castiel into the closet. Dean is already there.
